Charles H. Dudley, 31st MS Infantry

My name is Scott Dudley. I am a direct descendent of a Charles H. Dudley of the 31st Miss. reg. He had 2 brothers that were killed in the Atlanta battles. Charles was captured at the battle of Nashville and died in a POW camp in Columbus, OH. In January 1865.

I have letters from him to his wife. In those he reminds his wife to write to him and address to Featherston, Loring’s Division. The last letters we have from him are from Atlanta September of 1864.

Thanks for such a great article.
