Col. William Wallace Witherspoon, 36th Mississippi Infantry

Col. William Wallace Witherspoon, was my great, great, great, uncle and he was killed at the Battle of Franklin. (36th Mississippi). If anyone has any info about him or his involvement here, I would love to gather all the info I could.

My great great grandfather fell at Franklin. He was in the 36th Mississippi infantry in D Company. Lol they were called the Yankee Hunters. His name was Stephan Richmond Gilbert and I’d give just about anything to know more about him and where he died on the battlefield.
