Noah Colcher, Company F, 183rd Ohio was killed at Franklin

My gtgt grandfather was Noah COLCHER, Company F, 183rd Ohio. He was already a veteran of the war, but re-enlisted and was sent down to Franklin where he was killed in the yard of the Carter House.

He was fighting my gt grandfather who was in the 50th Tenn. Inf. another veteran.

Noah is buried in Murfreesboro, TN in the Stones River National Cemetery. His widow was the granddaughter of Gen. Samuel Herrick from Ohio.

The 183rd was part of Strickland’s Brigade, Ruger’s Division.
