Isaac Zachariah Nash, Private, Company A, 55th Tennessee Infantry

My GGgrandfather’s name is Isaac Zachariah Nash. He served as 2nd Private, Co. A., 55th Tennessee Volunteers. He was born Jan. 12, 1843 at Big Sandy, Benton County, Tennessee. His father is Orison Nash and his mother is Ann Coplin Nash.

He married Newton Ann Coble on Jan. 30,1869 at Hollow Rock, Carroll County, Tennessee. They came to Reno, Lamar County, Texas in September 1871 with two children. Five more children were added to their union. He was a farmer the rest of his life.

From the records of Lamar # 258 United Daughters of the Confederacy awarded Isaac Nash with the Cross of Military Service on June 3, 1909.

He died Nov. 18, 1917 and is buried in Reno, Larmar County, Texas at Union Grove Cem.

I don’t know very much about his war years, I wish I did.

    his father was Zacharia Nash. They moved to Henry County TN around Paris and Mckenzie.
