Henry Mayberry, 24th Tennessee Infantry

I have two great-grandfathers who fought at the Battle of Franklin. They are father and son from Hickman County, Tennessee, and were with the 24th Tennessee, Company I. Both survived the war.

5th Gr/Grandfather: Peter Simmons Mayberry

4th Gr/Grandfather: Henry Mayberry (taken prisoner at Shy’s Hill during Battle of Nashville and transported to Camp Chase in OH)

  • The 24th TN designation provided by Nora may be wrong.
  • CWD does not list any Mayberry’s in the 24th TN.
  • Peter Mayberry is listed by CWD as inthe 48th TN.
  • Henry N. Mayberry is listed in CWD as being with Company C, TN 9th Battn Cavalry
